A New Apartment for 2015

I am pleased to announce, readers, that this past weekend I moved into a new apartment. I can see my old apartment from the backyard;  I haven’t moved far.
The differences are just as plentiful as the similarities in this new place. I am now in the basement of a home, rather than being on the top floor. My new place is cozy rather than barren. My goal in the old apartment was survival, here in the new place it is enjoyment. I am thinking about setting up the apartment so that people can visit, so that I can have an office space, so that I can set up entertainment and gaming systems. My uncle is my new landlord.

The similarities make it an easy move. I am still within walking distance of work, downtown Kitchener, and grocery stores. I can drive in a very short time to loved ones.

It’s great! I spent the weekend moving in and am still in the process of settling. I can tell that it will be a good home base for my working life, as mornings and evenings are peaceful and relaxed in the space.

Below are a few pictures of my new place. My first solo apartment – it inspires a feeling of ownership. I am so proud!

Just got back from a 10 day trip to Peru and had a great time visiting with friends and getting some work done up in the small Andean village where I collaborate – a really great start to the year.
